Confusion As Briton Dies On Prostitute

Quincy

Officials of British High Commission in Nigeria are currently struggling to recover from the shock arising from the death of one of their citizens, Mr. Tim Davies, who died in an hotel room in Lagos after sexual intercourse with a Nigerian confirmed to be a commercial sex worker.

Crimelive! findings revealed that the officials were not only shocked by the news but also embarrassed. Consequent upon this, they were said to have expressed their displeasure to the police for allowing the news to hit the streets.

Their disappointment notwithstanding, the woman, Quincy Usamoje, sees no reason the public should be denied the details of the whole incident, perhaps to help her case.

She seems to believe that only telling the whole truth is the best she can do to honour the memory of an unusual and committed sex partner, which Davies was to her during his lifetime.

“I can not deny the fact that I enjoyed him. He was active and very strong throughout, “Quincy told Crimelive! at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti Street, Yaba, where she is being held and undergoing interrogation.

Her lamentation shows that losing her freedom behind the bar is insignificant compared to losing the ‘energy’ of her fun-loving Briton. “ I can’t tell lies to you, I will miss him”, she confirmed.

Further evidence of a blissful romance between Quincy and Davies was the fact that Quincy, could not resist the nostalgia of their moment in a guest house located somewhere in Ikeja. She hardly entered her apartment in Ikotun, a Lagos suburb before she dialled Davies’s number to tell him she arrived home safely and also to know his condition, having earlier shown sign of exhaustion.

“But when I called his number, the voice I heard from the other end was not his own, but told me to come back to the hotel. I was a bit disturbed, but I quickly rushed out of my room. When I got there, I was surprised to meet him dead,” Quincy explained.

Her prompt arrival at the hotel surprised Davie’s friends who had thought the woman could have run away. Nobody, however, wanted to see this as a gesture. They, quickly called the police and handed her over for necessary interrogation on what she knew about the death, being the very last person to have seen and slept with Davies.

“What I can say about him is that after we finished the following morning, I observed that he was very weak, and when I said I was ready to go, he did not see me off. He was still in bed. And this was why I called him immediately I got to my house”.

The positive disposition, which Quincy freely expressed despite the weight of the case seems to have worked for her. Investigation so far has not indicted her. This, however, is not ruling out her culpability given the complex nature of the crime such as murder. The autopsy report from General Hospital, Ikeja where the corpse is deposited will put to rest suspicion on what actually killed the 33-year- old man.

The relationship between Quincy and late Davies, though a short one, was full of fun and wonderful memories, according to Quincy.

The romance was built on love at first sight when they met in January. Davies was in his usual visit to the same guest house where he died, when his eyes caught up Quincy among the many passing by the hotel.

“He said he liked me and would like it if I spent that night with him in the hotel. I agreed and followed him to the bar. We spent the night together and enjoyed ourselves till the following morning. When I was going, he gave me $50 and collected my phone number. He also promised to call me when he returned from the journey he was going that day”, Quincy said.

True to his word, Davies called her on his return to Lagos. The highly elated Quincy received the call with a surprise that Davies could keep his promise. Incidentally, it was this call that marked the beginning of Davies end.

“I got to the hotel around 8:30pm and was very happy to see him after three months. He was already waiting, drinking and smoking cigarette, I asked him to eat, he said he did not like the odour so I ate the suya alone. Later we went into the room,” Quincy concluded.

The decomposed corpse of a German man has been found alone in his bed after

nearly seven years, police in the western city of Essen said today.

The police said in a statement the man was 59 and unemployed at the time of his death. He most likely died of natural causes on November 30, 2000, the date he received a letter from the Welfare Office found in the flat, police said.

Next to the dead man's bed police found cigarettes, an open television guide and Deutschemark coins, which went out of circulation after the euro was introduced in 2002.

The man's flat was in a building with offices and units, many of which are now empty.

"No one missed him. No missing person report was ever filed," the police said.

A GUNMAN boarded a Chicago Transit Authority bus yesterday afternoon and opened fire, wounding five teenage passengers, two of them critically, authorities said.

Police spokesman John Mirabelli said all the victims injured on the No. 103 bus on the city's South Side were teenagers, The Associated Press reported. No one was in custody in connection with the shooting by last evening, he said.

The shooting took place yesterday around 3:15pm, said CTA spokeswoman Wanda Taylor.

"A lone, armed offender boarded the bus and shortly after boarding the bus fired multiple shots," Assistant Deputy Superintendent Eugene Williams said at a news conference.

The suspect exited the bus and ran south after the shooting, said Williams, who asked the public to call in with tips.

The driver quickly pulled the bus over to a spot she believed was safe, said CTA spokeswoman Sheila Gregory.

Two girls were in critical condition and one girl was in fair condition at Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn last evening, according to hospital spokeswoman Deb Song.

A 16-year-old girl and a 16-year-old boy were reported in fair condition at Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park last evening, Mirabelli said.
